The ballet “box” is frankly very complicated and to the untrained eye most likely not even noticeable. But to a ballerina it is the very fundamental technique to ballet positioning. Here we are working on Lola’s Ecarte’. A position where she stands on the diagonal where her supporting leg is to the back corner and pointed foot is to the front. The pink tape on the floor describes the “box” that is always around a dancer so wherever they are on stage everyone has the same positioning.
